Truffle Lobster Macaroni n' Cheese - No Spoon Necessary
Well, maybe I could haha. Thank you so much Dannii! What a coincidence you had truffle mac and cheese for the first time a few weeks ago! This dish is definitely rich, but the holidays are made for indulging! Oh, wow… this looks amazing!
Thank you so much, April! You MUST try making this at home if you order it out! Save yourself some dough, giiiirl!! I would love to make this for my family… Thanks for sharing the video on the humane way to kill a lobster — hubby and I took a class and received that very instruction. We were surprised to learn that that is the way to do it — but it actually makes sense.
Gorgeous, gorgeous dish, milady! Thank you so much for the sweet comment, Annie! Not to sound creepy, but I kill them all the time, because we can get them pretty reasonably priced here. Thank you so much for the sweet comment, Christin!! You should totally add this to your Christmas menu!!
Two reasons. I adore lobster. And I am highly allergic to it.
But I will do my darndest to be happy for all those who can eat and enjoy this decadence. Cheers to all you lucky ones that can! Gorgeous pictures. Have a beautiful day Cheyanne! Oh no!! How did I not know you were highly allergic to lobster?! Are you allergic to all shellfish?! Thanks so much for the sweet comment, Allie! Cheers to you and a fabulous day! You had me at lobster. Well thank you SO much for the seriously sweet comment, Annie!! An Asian girl like me would most likely not grow up with mac n cheese. It seems that American kids love mac n cheese.
I wondered what I missed as a child… my curious self urged me to try it. I did. Of course I had to try the boxed ones. Smarty pants. It was the worst ever. But oh my heck…. Bad girl, bad. No, seriously. Long story short… I want this. AiPing… no no no to boxed crap. So glad a friend served you some real mac and you decided it was acceptable! Thanks for the comment love, my dear!
You really brought it today, OMG. I want to eat all of this all the time. I can hardly contain myself, like for real. Thank you so much for the sweet comment, Meghan! Thank you so much for stopping by! Let me know if you try that!! Cheers to a beautiful day! Grease a 3-quart baking dish; set aside. Cook pasta according to package directions; drain. Return to pan. Meanwhile, in a large skillet, cook bacon over medium heat until crisp. Drain bacon on paper towels, reserving 2 tablespoons drippings in skillet.
Crumble bacon; set aside. Add mushrooms and leeks to the reserved drippings; cook about 5 minutes or until tender. Stir crumbled bacon, mushroom mixture, lobster meat, Gruyere cheese, half-and-half, blue cheese, truffle oil, and cayenne pepper into cooked pasta. Transfer mixture to the prepared baking dish. Bake, covered, for 20 minutes. Stir gently. In a small bowl, combine bread crumbs and melted butter; sprinkle over pasta mixture.
Bake, uncovered, for 10 to 15 minutes more or until mixture is heated through and crumbs are lightly browned. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving. Makes 6 to 8 servings. For 8 ounces cooked lobster meat, start with two 8-ounce fresh or frozen lobster tails. Thaw lobster, if frozen. Preheat broiler.
